British Success at Polagra Farm!
The show has been renamed ‘FARMA’ for 2007 and the duration reduced from 4 to 3 days. If you are considering exhibiting at FARMA 2007 (28-30 September), please contact us now to register your interest. The largest British group in Poznan for 15 years attended the Polagra Farm show in October 2006. The event was coordinated on behalf of the MLC (Meat & Livestock Commission) by Henry Lewis, Chairman of the British Livestock Genetics Consortium/President of the British Cattle Breeders Club. It was mainly due to Henry’s connections that such a large group of exhibitors attended the Polagra Farm exhibition. A broad selection of British companies in the livestock breeding, genetics and associated industries participated in Poland’s largest agricultural show.
It’s been 17 years since Britain has been able to export beef and over 30 British companies took advantage of the ending of restrictions to exhibit in the ‘British Pavilion’. In many ways this was a unique event for UK participation in Poland, as for the first time all except 2 companies were new to exhibiting abroad. The participants included cattle and sheep breed societies, breeders, representatives from the pig breeding sector, companies dealing in the logistics and protocols of livestock exports. Other exhibitors included those involved in animal nutrition, farm incinerators and off-road vehicles.
British exhibitors qualified for substantial financial assistance from UKTI (UK Trade and Investment) assisting them greatly with their exhibiting costs. Further funding for the show came from the MLC and its devolved bodies. The ‘British Pavilion’ was housed in a 400m2 marquee situated in a strategic position at the main crossroads within the Poznan fairgrounds. The pavilion housed livestock pens as well as exhibitors booths and a seminar area. This ‘stand alone’ UK pavilion attracted many visitors and along with France, had the largest foreign participation at the show.
Business was concluded by a number of British companies and already the UK organisers have received support for the 2007 show.
